It’s a species of wilderness goat (capra ibex) living in steep, rough terrain near the snow line.

 

Throughout history, the ibex has been revered for its uncanny ability to maneuver and nimbly scale impassable terrain. The ibex has been depicted in Ice Age cave paintings, honored in medieval tapestries, and immortalized in the zodiac.

 

Its legendary status symbolizes balance, skill, and resilience while confronting adversity and what may seem to be intractable predicaments.
